A Greater Vision: Thinking Beyond the Everyday
When I first picked up Buddha and the Badass, one idea really stood out to me: the importance of creating a “greater vision” for your business. So, I decided to give it a try. I’ve written it out a few times, but honestly, it hasn’t been easy. Every time I sit down, I end up with more questions than answers. To sort through it, I often head into nature to clear my head, or I end up having a long chat with… myself. Those internal conversations can get a bit intense. But the last time, something hit me: “It’s not about you. Try to see the bigger picture.”
The truth is, I’ve never really been interested in growing my company for the sake of numbers or more people. I mean, there’s only one unique me. So how can I, as just one person, do the most good? That’s when I remember something Morgan Freeman said in a movie: “One good deed at a time.” Simple, but effective. So thank You, Morgan 🙂
I tend to live in my own little bubble—and I’m thankful for that. No TV, no radio, and while I do check the news occasionally, let’s be honest, it’s rarely uplifting. But when I do step outside my bubble, it’s hard not to notice how stressed, unsatisfied, and sometimes just plain unhappy people seem. Sure, there are exceptions, but overall, the energy out there is a little… frustrating.
A while back, I pitched an idea to one of the leaders in the coworking space world: a fantasy relaxation room. The idea was pretty straightforward: create a space where people could take a break, recharge, and just step out of the daily grind for a few minutes. Picture this: private alcoves with small holes in the wall where you could lie down, plug in your headphones, and listen to soothing music of your choice. There would be a huge panoramic image on the wall, changing throughout the day. In the morning, the room would “wake up” with the sunrise, fresh air, and a soft breeze. As evening approached, the flowers would close, the lights would dim, and the ceiling would turn into a starry night sky. It was inspired by Alice in Wonderland—the idea that even a brief escape, just 10 minutes, could transport you to a different world and leave you feeling more focused and ready to tackle your work.
Sadly, I never received a response from them. So, the idea is still on the market. If you’re looking to provide your employees with something extra, a space that makes them feel valued and appreciated, please get in touch with me. I’d love to bring this vision to life.
The picture is of me, at the sea. I know —everyone’s obsessed with pet pics, but sorry, no cats or dogs here, just a human and a whole lot of one-on-one chats with myself 😊
