Transform Your Christmas Tree Into a Marketing Masterpiece

Christmas is just around the corner, and many companies already have their Christmas trees up. We’re past the 1st of December, yet I can’t help but feel a little disappointed by the overall trend I’m seeing around Christmas tree decorations this year. I recently walked by a few office windows, and while one tree in particular was beautifully decorated and standing tall in a lobby on a sleek metal frame, it still felt a bit… generic.Yes, the market is flooded with pre-decorated Christmas trees, and while some of them may look nice at first glance, they don’t quite resonate with me. Pinterest is bursting with creative tree decoration ideas, and there are plenty of great examples out there. But what I’d love to see is companies taking it a step further and making their tree truly their own.
Regardless of your industry, a Christmas tree can be an extension of your brand. There are countless creative ways to make your tree reflect who you are as a company. Choose colors that align with your brand palette, incorporate logo-printed ribbons, or add unique decorative elements. You could even craft a tree shape using your own products or services.
After all, a Christmas tree is one of the most visible—and cost-effective—marketing opportunities of the season. So why not take full advantage of it?
If space is an issue and you can’t fit a tree, consider decorating your front entrance. Use items people can instantly connect with your business—whether it’s a product, a theme, or an experience you provide.
For a modern twist, why not try a hologram tree or a laser light display? Or an interactive screen where passersby can “unwrap” virtual gifts or engage with your brand in a fun way.

The key is: don’t just create anything. Create something meaningful, something that connects with your audience, leaves an impact, and truly represents your company during the holiday season.

Here are some examples how companies can brand their Christmas tree:

Here is my work from last year: decorating the Christmas tree. It was with a kindergarten group called 'Päkapikk' (Elf). I decorated the tree using available materials: clothes hangers, pine cones, and elves.
