Designing in Full Circles

So, I was offered again the opportunity to participate in a design proposal. I also participated in this year’s design, but unfortunately, I didn’t win. I was devastated. I was going through a low period, and I really needed a good opportunity. When it came along, I gave it my all, but sadly, it didn’t work out. Of course, I cried—I’m an emotional being. I even cry watching cartoons. My kids used to watch me at the cinema and ask, “Mommy, are you crying?” So the loss felt like yet another hole I had to pull myself out of.

Every experience is a lesson, good or bad. So after that one, I decided not to waste my time and energy competing anymore. I mean, if I want to, I can always review proposals and decide how much effort I’m willing to invest. But, to my surprise, I found myself accepting this invitation to make an offer for next year. However, I’m not approaching it with the intention of winning, but rather with the goal of seeing what I can get out of myself. This feels fun—kind of liberating. I haven’t had this feeling in a long time. If I can look beyond the given space or shape, why not propose something completely different?
I’ll keep track of the budget, but otherwise, why not think outside the box? They don’t have to like it, but at least they’ll see a different perspective. After all, every year it’s been a long rectangle, so why not make it round? I love round, flowing shapes.
Do you know why round shapes are good? 💡
Our brains often interpret round shapes as softer, friendlier, and more approachable. Round shapes encourage people to physically engage with them. When you want teamwork to feel more open and welcoming, you should have your meetings around a round table. Even King Arthur held his meetings with his Knights at a round table. The table symbolizes equality and unity—shared responsibility and mutual respect. So, if you want this for your team, your employees, get them to sit around a round table.

So, definitely something flowing for the design. I’m not sure yet what exactly, but I think it needs a walk in nature, maybe some meditation, and some good debate with myself. 🙂 Exciting! 😌 đŸ€—
